Dr. John A. Gonzalez has become one of the leading female medicine specialists in the Southwest Louisiana area. He is a licensed surgeon and has performed thousands of surgeries. He is board certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. At the urging of many of Dr. Gonzalez’s patients, he began training in cosmetic surgery and now has an extremely busy cosmetic and gynecologic practice. He has received training from some of the pioneers of cosmetic surgery under tumescent or local anesthesia. Dr. Gonzalez is one of the first doctors in the Acadiana area to perform liposuction, abdominoplasty and breast augmentation completely under local anesthesia in the office. Dr. Gonzalez is the only full time board certified Urogynecologist in the Acadiana area.
Dr. John Gonzalez received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at the Orlando Regional Healthcare System in Orlando, Florida where he was Chief Resident. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Gonzalez resides in the Crowley area with his wife and two children. His focus is on providing the highest quality of care to his patients in a compassionate and trustworthy manner. He is absolutely thrilled to be part of the Acadiana family.
Dr. Michelle Owens is Board Certified in Gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Starting in 2014, Dr. Owens began training in facial cosmetic procedures including facial fat transfer and facial and neck rejuvenation with Thermitight. She is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. She has been in private practice in Crowley, Louisiana since 1999. She received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Owens was chosen to serve as Chief Resident of the Gynecology department from 1998-1999. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomat of the Board of Gynecology.
Dr. Owens prides herself on taking the time to get to know her patients and thoroughly addressing their needs and concerns. She understands that choosing a healthcare provider is one of the most important decisions one can make. Not only is she knowledgeable, caring and accessible, she is willing to take the time to go over all options and treat each individual as a person, not just a patient. Her special interests are in laparoscopic, pelvic floor reconstruction and incontinence surgery, as well as helping her patients improve their appearance with the use of Botox and dermal fillers.
Providing surgical cures for gynecologic conditions has been one of Dr. Owens proficiencies. Most patients want minimal scars and minimal down time. Therefore, Dr. Owens always attempts to perform surgeries in the most benign fashion possible. She is one of the first gynecologists in Crowley to focus on minimally invasive procedures both in the hospital and office. She routinely performs endometrial ablations and permanent birth control under local anesthesia in the office as well as robotic laparoscopic hysterectomies as an outpatient surgery.
Dr. Owens makes her home in Crowley with her husband and two children. Not only does she enjoy spending time with her family and traveling, she also enjoys establishing a continuum of care with her patients and building lifelong relationships with them and their families. She is proud to be a part of making a difference in her community.
Candice Myers started out as an RN in labor and delivery and fell in love with taking care of women during one of their most joyful times in life. That love for labor and delivery progressed to a desire to care for women throughout their lifespan. She specializes in health maintenance, as well as in treating common gynecological problems, some of which include irregular bleeding, contraceptive management, pelvic pain, and cervical dysplasia.
Candice attended nursing school at University of Louisiana, and graduated with a bachelor degree in nursing in 2010. While working full-time in labor and delivery she attended the University of South Alabama. She graduated in 2014 with a Master’s Degree in nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is certified with the National Certification Corporation and a member of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.
Candice lives in Youngsville with her husband and 3 young children. She enjoys spending time with her family as well as building trusting relationships with her patients. She is so excited to be part of the Acadia Women’s Health team.
