What is a Tummy Tuck?

An Abdominoplasty, or Tummy Tuck, is a surgical procedure that is performed with the goal of removing excess skin and fatty tissue from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. There are several different types of Tummy Tucks:

Brazilian Abdominoplasty

A Brazilian Abdominoplasty, or Tummy Tuck involves performing liposuction followed by removing just the skin of the lower abdomen.

Mini Tummy Tuck

A Mini Tummy Tuck is when a small area of skin and fat of the lower abdomen is removed and the muscles of the lower abdominal wall are brought closer together. It results in an incision in the lower abdomen just above the pubic area about the size of a typical c-section scar.

Traditional Abdominoplasty

A Traditional Abdominoplasty, Tummy Tuck, procedure involves removing all the skin between the navel and the pubic area from hip to hip. The muscles of the upper and lower abdominal wall are then tightened resulting in a flat abdomen.

During your initial consult, we will discuss everything there is to know about Tummy Tuck procedures with you. We'll want to know what you are hoping to gain from this procedure and answer any questions that you might have about the surgery, pricing, and recovery. We'll also decide if you will be a good candidate for a Tummy Tuck, what type of Tummy Tuck would be better for you, or if there is an alternative procedure better suited for your needs.

If it is determined that you are a good candidate, and this is the right treatment for you, we will have you come in for your pre-ops to make sure that you are healthy enough to undergo the surgery. Once that has been confirmed, it is surgery time!

Once your surgery is complete we will follow up with you according to our Tummy tuck post-op schedule, to make sure that your recovery is going as it should.
